Our Spotlight Student is 7th Grade Aedan Croft. Aedan has been an athlete with Team Whidbey Special Olympics since he was 9.(Athletes can join at age 8!)
He has participated in track & field, basketball, bowling, and swimming. His favorite is swimming, which he competes in the walking events. Bowling comes in as a close second. Aedan has placed both silver and gold in regional Special Olympics swim competitions, and last year went on win gold at the State Championships! He loves his teammates and coaches, and is dedicated to working hard at practices.
Currently, Team Whidbey is in the bowling season and Aedan goes to weekly practice with his team. This will be his third year bowling with Special Olympics.
Special Olympics has given Aedan, as well as our family, a sense of belonging to a community where Aedan is celebrated for his abilities and uniqueness.
