We have good news – last year more than 16,000 students signed up for the College Bound Scholarship that promises college tuition for 7^th and 8^th grade students who are eligible for the free and reduced-price lunch program. Your school’s promotional efforts and commitment helped make this possible.

As the new 2008-09 school year begins, we would like to remind you that this year’s 9^th graders have until June 30, 2009 to apply for the College Bound Scholarship. Ordinarily all students must apply by June 30 of their 8^th grade year, but because College Bound is a new program, the Legislature gave last year’s 8^th graders one more year to apply. This is a one-time exception only.
