Welcome to the Encore page! Unlike the other teams in the building we offer a variety of electives for students.

Electives, Physical Education*, and health* are offered to students in all grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. Virtually  every student at North Whidbey take Physical Education and at least one elective through all three of their years at the middle school. Electives are very popular with the students at North Whidbey and that popularity is reflected by the large numbers of students enrolled in these classes.

The elective classes offer an opportunity for students to explore  various offerings which combine thinking skills, physical skills, and personal creativity to produce their own unique product. All it takes to appreciate the high level of productivity of our students is to walk into North Whidbey where the senses are immediately stimulated with works of art on display, sounds of music in the air, and the stimulating brain waves from the technology classroom. And, if you are out using our track on some brisk morning and you here the word "cuidado" yelled at you, it is just a warning from one of our Spanish students to be careful because the reading and math classes may be outside shooting off the rockets they have built.

*It should be noted that Health and Physical Education are not electives but required classes.
