Welcome to the North Whidbey Middle School Counseling Department. We are here to help address the academic, social/emotional, and career development of all students. As counselors, we support the academic environment in the following ways: individual and group counseling, consulting with each of the instructional teams, scheduling and facilitating parent/team staffings, and scheduling all academic classes including new students coming to NWMS.

     Students are assigned to their counselors based on their Team Assignments.  Emily Southwick works with the Extreme Team, Explorer and Elite eights.  Jenny Butler works with the Dream Team, Navigators and Voyagers.  Regardless of team assignments, the students are encouraged to come to either counselor based on the comfort of the student.

     We also have a Preventionist, Waverly Paitson, and a Nurse, Robin White  that assist with supporting NWMS students.
